Relax, managing household food waste doesn’t have to be a chore.
Using an InSinkErator® garbage disposal is a simple solution to help maintain a clean, fresh and sustainable kitchen.

SAY YES

TO LESS MESS

No matter how clean your kitchen is, discarded food waste creates foul odors and attracts pests. Your garbage bin is also a major magnet for salmonella and E. coli – household bacteria that feed on food waste. Using a garbage disposal helps reduce food waste in your trash, unpleasant odors, and bacteria.

Do NOT pre-load the disposal. Never put fats, oils, or grease into the garbage disposal.
PRO TIP:

If you’re loading just one type of food waste into your disposal, you won’t get optimal results. Mixing different types of food scraps together ensures better grinding performance.

1. Turn on cold water.

2. Turn on the disposal.

3. Gradually feed food waste into the disposal’s bladeless grind system.

4. Listen and wait for grinding to stop.

5. Let water run for a few seconds to clear the drain.

6. Turn off disposal & water.

FRESH KITCHEN.

HAPPY PLANET.

Using an InSinkErator® garbage disposal reduces the amount of food waste taken to landfills and the resulting methane emissions that contribute to climate change. Many wastewater treatment plants are also capable of converting disposal waste into renewable energy and beneficial fertilizer.
